GradeBook Pro - Grade, Attendance, and Behavior Tracking App Reviews

Useful but as it is I dont see myself replacing my desktop program with it yet. I love the Dropbox integration and being able to add pictures using the camera. However, the fact that I cannot weight entries, or at least scale marks after entering to change relative values is very annoying. The app also needs more data field, for gender, parent email, and so on. Being able to enter multiple marks would be helpful Good job, but needs some functionality.

Ive been using this app this past summer with summer school and am VERY excited about using it this school year. This app works FAR better than ANY of the "Marking Apps" in the App Store, including Marksbook. Believe me, Ive downloaded them all and have played around with the interface. Any "bugs" in the app have been IMMEDIATELY updated and it seems like the developers REALLY want this to be the best app out there and they will do whatever it takes to satisfy their customers. I LOVE the Dropbox feature, I LOVE the layout.

The best teacher app so far. Notes allow you to create rubrics and add student comments while theyre working. For elementary teachers, it would be helpful to be able to create a master list of students and import them rather than having to create a new list of students for each subject.

I have used this app for a full term and it works flawlessly. Even setting up a new term was easy. Worth every penny.

All of it is quite well thought out, nice intuitive interface, flexible and clear. The only drawback (and it might be because Im lazy) is the import feature; quite tricky and somewhat useless in this state. Entering data manually is easy, importing a class list is a real bummer! Theirs one way and only way to achive this (good explanation in the help section though) and it involves (for me at least) a lot of fiddling around inbetween softwares, from Excel (Numbers doesnt work for this) to TextEdit to final adjustments in GradeBook itself, lots of wasted hours to kickstart it... Once this hurdle is passed it works like a charm.

It does everything you need a marks program to do. Excellent support. I have asked 3 questions and each was answered within 24 hours.

Love the app for attendance and marking,however, would like to be able to add and additional email address so I could email parents at the same time as the student. This would certainly then be a five star app.

I appreciate the convenience of being able to enter attendance and marks as I wander around the classroom, and the ability to email grade & attendance reports. BUT I really wish I could add comments to individual student reports so as to use them for send-home Interim Reports - I still have to use another program to do this.

Ive taught for over 30 years and have used many marking programs. GradeBook Pro is the best Ive ever used. For the last two years Ive used it and would and have highly recommend it. For the past two years, Ive used a paper-free assessment book. This is my only tool and it gets the job done! To improve, Id like better ability to add an assignment, and enter grades in one screen, rather than add an assignment, save it, open it, enter data... Just being picky.

This is an excellent app for teachers, especially if you travel from room to room. The best feature by far, is the "finding missing assignments". You know how you are always trying to keep track of the late assignments or not handed in? This feature pulls all the missing assignments up in 2 seconds. Keeps me much more organized. I now have no physical mark book - I enter marks right on app. Lots of ways to back up the info - so dont worry. Even with the feature of "run reports" you can email yourself all the marks. So fast. If you dont want to use Dropbox. I run a report and email myself after every major entry of assignment and I always had a backup. But, in the two years Ive been using the app, never needed it! Its fantastic! I never write reviews, but this one app is worth the time, effort and very reasonable price. Thank you developers. I love your app! Youve saved me so much time!

This app has been a godsend. Its helped me to stay on top of my grading and I know at a glance my students performance. I can email them individually or the whole class. The features are exceptional and the interface is pleasing. I looked at as many as I could find and this is the one real teachers want. Everything you need is there and it has even opened new possibilities for on-the-fly practical classroom data generation. This app makes the iPad the perfect, no understatement, tool for teachers.

Im a high school teacher and I have been searching for an app like this to manage my 500 students. This app is buggy, ugly and lacks simple things such as comparing grades between classes. I bought this app because there were two 5 star reviews. Those were obviously made by the people who made the app because I dont see how this can be the best app for a teacher. This app crashed on me 6 times in five minutes. Anyway, DO NOT BUY THIS APP. I have sacrificed 850 yen to spare all of you. Get Bento.

I have been using this for 17 classes of about 20-40 students. I tried Teacher Pal last year but had a lot of crashes and could not quite get the grades set up properly. With Gradebook, I was able to set up the grades/grade calculations set up the way I wanted. On the other hand, there are a number of peace of mind robbing bugs that show up from time to time such as duplicate fields for students or exempted grades showing up for no reason or a kind of scroll stickiness that sometimes wont permit scrolling to the bottom of a long list of students. Had one particularly disconcerting bug where I could not access 16 of my classes until resetting my iPad. Even so, the app usually runs smoothly but strongly suggest regular back ups of data. Agree with another review that called Gradebook/Graybook ugly but then TPal was much prettier but did not work as well for me.

need to be implemented, the cost now is too high, but good possibility to get to the top if well upgraded
