GradeBook Pro - Grade, Attendance, and Behavior Tracking App Reviews

Great app, needs one more feature...

I have just got this app and it is already saving me so much time. The only complaint/improvement would be to be able to generate a report for any linked students. That way if I have Student A in Math and History, I can generate a report for that student with all classes on one report. Great app though.

Wonderful App., Spectacular Support

I have been using this app for a year now to keep track of my classes and it has greatly improved my record-keeping and teaching efficiency. Attendance-taking is effortless (with the photo next to the name), assignment creation and grading are simple, it gives me the ability to do on-the-spot grading of spontaneous class assignments, I have instant access to any students records--including missed assignments, and an in-app ability to email individual students or the whole class--all of these things not only make my life easier, but allow me to be a better teacher. Frankly, if this were the only thing I did on my iPad, it would be worth buying an iPad just for this app. Recently the unthinkable happened, my iPad died. Fortunately, I had been religious about using Gradebook Pros backup feature (backs up to Dropbox). Without access to an iPad, I itwas concerned that I might not be able to read the backup file. I put an inquiry in to the developer and within seconds (literally) he got back to me and offered to generate reports from my backup data--reports that I could read on my computer! Within 30 minutes I had the reports and had the peace of mind knowing that my records were safe. Update: I am now going on two years with this app and I love it more than ever. The developer has upgraded it continuously during the time I have been using it and improved it each time. I contacted him again recently and his response was just as quick as the first time--he had me up and running in no time.

Very good app for teachers

This app helps in saving time as far as grade calculation is concerned. The reason why Im giving it 4 stars is the lack of organizing according to rank. I love the alphabetical order but sometimes I like to see who ranks higher in my class. Still, this app is extremely recommendable. Mr. Lombardo, thank you so much for making it easier for us teachers to tally the grades.

Grade book Pro

When I had a major concern about the missing data for my Gradebook Pro, I didnt know what on earth to do. As a first year teacher, I was so excited to find this app but when I temporarily lost my data, I was angry and confused. Eric Lombardo DID respond to my queries with a concerned and attentive posture and he got me through the dilemma. Thanks, Mr. Lombardo! I am grateful that I back up my data and that you gave me guidance in how to retrieve it. I highly recommend this product.

Clean & easy

Simple setup, easy to use on-the-fly, and visually clean.

Great app

I love this app for calculating my college students grades. Its very easy to use, and I love that I can import roster information from an Excel file and send students their grade summary by email. If I may suggest a minor improvement: in the settings menu can you allow instructors to use a default email address for all mail within the app? It is tedious to change the email address for each message from my personal email to my work email.

A+ for Teacher Productivity

I have been using this app for two years. Love it! It has saved me so much time and prints/emails reports effortlessly.

Very helpful

Id give it 5 stars if it could copy all the information of the student if the student is transferred to another class. Its a real pain having to re-type all the grades and attendance, especially if its late in the semester and there is a lot of information. Also, can there be a way to enter "M" for missing? It would count as zero.

Almost perfect

I love this app. Every feature that it has is exactly what it should be. In the future, I would like to see a couple additions; to begin with, a missing function in addition to the excused and dropped options for assignments, or perhaps the ability to set custom statuses---set the score to zero, reduce to a certain percent of listed score, ignore the assignment, etc.---in the app settings. Also, some more advanced lesson planning options would be great. The class notes work in a limited way, but I would like to have a lesson page for each day, perhaps with the option to attach images or documents from my Dropbox or Google Drive.

Does Everything

Another reviewer Mrs.G3 said that she would give the app 5 stars if you could copy a class and import the students into a new class (like a new semester or different subject with the same kids). You can do this. To import students: 1. Create a new class 2. In the new class click Manage 3. Click Roster 4. On the top right click copy 5. Click on the old class 6. Click Select All 7. You can uncheck any students you do not want to add 8. ClickCopy and all your students are now in your new class My only suggestion for improvement is it would be nice if there was a way to print all the student reports for a whole class at once instead of printing each student individually. If I could print all the student grade reports at once the app would be perfect.

Ive used this app for 3 years

This app is the reason I bought an ipad. It continues to be the most important and useful app that I own. Thank you.

Very beneficial

As a nursing college professor, this app is useful. The app makes it easier to share information with students and keep up with student grades. One complaint: when emailing, students names are all in BCC. There is no way to change this. None the less, I really like this app.

Essential tool for K-12

I have used this app for this past school year. I teach music for PreK through 12th grades. I hate doing grades, evaluating behavior, weighting exams & homework, recording attendance, etc. Id rather spend my time teaching. Paper gradebooks are tedious for me. I have to turn in weekly grades for my secondary kids, do midterm quarterlies, interact with parents, just like the rest of the teaching world. However - its just a few clicks every day now, and allows me to enter notes for elementary behaviors, send a quick email to a parent or student, send my weeklies to the administrator - customized with whatever data he requires. The reports function is incredibly rich and flexible. At the end of the year, I print out the data for permanent records, and backup via Dropbox, where I can use a second iOS device if necessary in case I leave my iPad at home for some reason. It is totally worth it, my life is much easier now!!

Great App

I love this app.

Makes grading and record keeping a breeze!

I love this app and have used it for two years. As an elementary school teacher, I keep grades, record paid trips, and even keep phone logs in the notes section under students rosters. This year, I kept a sample of my former students and gave them superhero names. I will show my new students and these real scores and use this info to show them how I keep track during the year. I wish it could be easier to delete an entire class and a set of assignments without having to do it one at a time. I dont remember what I paid for this app, but its definitely worth it.

Very responsive customer service

Ive been using GradeBook Pro for several semesters and I like it. I mostly use it for attendance. I initially had difficulty importing my roster fro Blackboard. However GradeBook Pros Eric Lombardo was responsive and patient and assisted me in correcting the problem of transferring the data from one platform to another. I like that I can add images of the students. I do that on the first day of classes. Additionally, I like that I can add their email addresses and student ID numbers. I typically email the student a status update about mid-semester. That task is super easy and quick thanks to this app. Im hopeful about using the grading features, but right now that task is easier for me via Blackboard b/c I create the assignments there w/all of the details. The integration w/Dropbox is nice, but Id like to see some support of other platforms like Box and Copy.

Makes attendance painless

My college demands detailed attendance records because the government requires them to document attendance to receive federal aid. Having GradeBook on my phone has taken all the hassle out of the record keeping. I love it. I dont keep grades on it; those go in Blackboard. I gave up fiddling with roster imports and just type the names in: takes 10 minutes once a semester. (Classes <30 students.) I love the student notes where I can keep track of all the individual issues that arise. Great app that has made an annoying part of my job so much easier.

Crashes on ios 8

I love this app and use it every day, but since upgrading to ios 8 it crashes on launch. I hope this gets fixed quickly as I dont know how Im going to take attendance or access my existing grades in the meantime.

Not yet updated for iOS 8, so it keeps crashing

Its unfortunate, because I rely heavily on this app to record my daily class attendance for 8 periods each day. I hope there is an update soon! I will be patient for a few days but then I will have to find another solution.

Thank you for fixing this so incredibly quickly!

Incredible team-- you fixed this immediately. You and the app are terrific! Please fix ASAP!! This app has lost all functionality with iOS 8.
